The Ex – Zach Braff and Jason Bateman Square-Off

Originally titled Fast Track, The Ex is a 2006/2007 comedy starring Zach Braff, Amanda Peet, and Jason Bateman. The film was written by David Guion and Michael Handelman and directed by Jesse Peretz, a former music video director-turned feature film director.

The film follows Zach Braff’s character Tom Reilly as he’s forced to work with Bateman’s character Chip Sanders, who went to high school with his wife, Sofia Kowalski, played by Amanda Peet. Chip and Sofia are former lovers and the film focuses on the rivalry between Chip and Zach.

The film also stars Charles Grodin, star of the early 1990s Beethoven films, and Donal Logue, from the cancelled (but funny!) sitcom Grounded for Life.

Zach Braff rose to fame as John J.D. Dorian on the NBC sitcom Scrubs, a role in which he has been nominated for three Golden Globes as well as an Emmy award. He also wrote, directed, and starred in 2004’s Garden State, which was set and filmed in his home state of New Jersey. He also served as the compilation producer on the Garden State soundtrack, for which he won an Emmy.

Amanda Peet has been in several major motion pictures. She was first widely noticed in the comedy The Whole Nine Yards, starring opposite Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis. She also stars in NBCs critically acclaimed drama Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, opposite The Whole Nine Yards co-star Matthew Perry. Despite receiving less-than-stellar ratings, NBC has not yet dropped the Aaron Sorkin drama. That bodes well for me, as it’s currently one of my favorite shows on television.

Jason Bateman got his acting start in 1981 on the television drama Little House on the Prairie. He also starred in shows like Silver Spoons, It’s Your Move, and The Hogan Family, earning him the status of teen idol. However, after all of these shows ended, his career settled down for nearly 10 years. In 2003, he made a major comeback on the television comedy Arrested Development.

This movie turned out to be pretty weak right? It started out okay but then you could tell why it blew in and out of theatres pretty fast.
