William H Macy & Felicity Huffman
62
Although actor William. H Macy has had some fantastic career-defining work in a number of critically acclaimed films, most people would probably recognize him from his role as Paul Kirby in the mediocre-at-best Jurassic Park 3. He played Dr. David Morgenstem on the hit medical drama ER from 1994 – 1998, and he turned in an amazing performance as Jerry Lundegaard in the Coen Brother’s Fargo.
Macy has described his screen persona as an “everyman,” and it seems as if he’s hit the nail on the head. That’s not to say that he doesn’t have tremendous range, though. He’s played a number of diverse roles and displayed more than a few times that he’s a force to be reckoned with in the acting business.
In 2005, Felicity Huffman gave an amazing performance in Transamerica as Bree, a transgender woman who goes on a road trip with her long lost son. She was nominated for an Academy Award and won Golden Globe, Independent Spirit, and Satellite awards, as well as a few other wins and nominations.
Despite that and her other movie roles, Huffman is easily best known for her role as Lynette Scavo on Desperate Housewives. The ABC “dramedy” follows the lives of four women, played by Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria, and of course, Felicity Huffman.
Macy and Huffman have been married since 1997, but had been with him 15 years prior. Despite their age gap of over 10 years, there relationship (and marriage) is reportedly completely stable, which seems to be something of a rarity in Hollywood, especially among actor/actress relationships. They have two children, Sofia Grace and Georgia Grace. On The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert mocked the trend of combing the names of celebrity couples by referring to Macy and Huffman as "Filliam H. Muffman." Note to self: watch more Colbert Report.
