Whatever Happened to Candace Cameron from Full House?

Candace Cameron, the younger sister of Growing Pains’s Kirk Cameron, rose to fame as the eldest sister, Donna Jo “DJ” Tanner, on Full House.

After the cancellation of Full House in 1995, Cameron starred in several made-for-television movies, including Sharon’s Secret, Visitors of the Night, No One Would Tell, Kidz in the Wood, and She Cried No. She also guest starred on popular sitcoms Cybill and Boy Meets World. I remember her stint in Boy Meets World very clearly, as it was the first time I’d seen her since Full House and exclaimed “Hey! That’s the girl from Full House!”

In 1996, a year after Full House ended, she married Valeri Bure (Bur-Ray), a Russian hockey player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Kings. Dave Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone on Full House, is a big hockey fan and the one who originally introduced Valeri to Candace.

The couple have three children: Natasha Valerievna, Lev Valerievich, and Maksim Valerievich. After her children were born, Cameron took a while off from any acting work to devote time to her family.

In 2001, Cameron executive produced and starred in The Krew, a short film that teaches kids how to avoid dangerous situations in their everyday lives.

In 2007, Cameron made her long-awaited return to television in That’s So Raven, as Raven’s history teacher Courtney Dearborn.

Candace is a member of the Christian faith and since 2006 has been endorsing several online Christian homeschooling academies.
