The Italian Job sequel: The Brazilian Job
61
In 2003, Hollywood continued its largely unsuccessful trend of remaking classics when it released The Italian Job, a remake of the 1969 film of the same name. It was only loosely based on the classic, however, and took place in Los Angeles instead of Italy. Mark Wahlberg took over Michael Caine’s role as Charlie Croker. The movie also featured the likes of Charlize Theron, Ed Norton, and more mini coopers than you could shake a stick at!
Fans of the 2003 caper will be excited to know that The Brazilian Job is in the works to hit theaters next year. While the plot is still unannounced, we do know that Charlie Croker and his crew are heading to Rio de Janeiro to pull of a heist. David Twohy, who wrote Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, is penning the screenplay.
I’m assuming that everyone has seen the remake, so here’s the trailer for the classic.
